About Me
Hi there! I’m Kris—a passionate traveler and hobbyist photographer (most photos on this website are mine) with an insatiable curiosity for the world and a heart for adventure. I don’t just dream of travel—I turn those dreams into reality. Whether it’s journeying through the states, discovering the breathtaking beauty of our national parks, or immersing myself in the history and culture of countless UNESCO World Heritage sites, I appreciate the world a little more with each stop.
Based in Austin, Texas, but always on the move with a camera or phone in hand. Most of the photos here are moments I’ve captured along the way—preserving memories as I go. When I turned 30, I made a promise to myself: visit at least one new country every year. So far, I’ve stayed true to that promise—even managing travel to Kenya just before the pandemic changed everything. I’m not just ticking off unique travel destinations; I’m crafting unforgettable itineraries, making meaningful connections, and inspiring others to embrace the spirit of adventure.
My Travel Style 🧳
I prefer to plan my own itineraries, balancing solo travel adventures with trips alongside friends, and occasionally joining small group tours. I love hiring local guides to enrich my experiences, usually booking them ahead of time. When it comes to accommodations, I favor smaller, unique hotels and Airbnbs, with a strong emphasis on location over luxury—though I’ll splurge on a place full of history, character, or a view that takes my breath away. When flying, I find that traveling with just a carry-on suitcase and a backpack that fits under the airplane seat is the perfect setup. A big part of my travel experience is driven by the local food and drink scene. I love discovering everything from humble hometown gems to restaurants that showcase the soul of regional cuisine. Whether it’s street food or a sit-down spot, I’m always chasing authentic flavors that capture the essence of the destination. And I’ll never pass up the chance to sip a craft cocktail in a cozy, off-the-beaten-path speakeasy.
